Show and Tell Sunday

Crazy day today. We had a huge party for my husband and daughters Birthdays. Anyway, I will be adding pictures here for Show and Tell Sunday but it might take a little while. We got home from the party and when I remembered about today I went to take pictures and the camera is dead so I am recharging the batteries now. Pictures to come soon :)

Happy Birthday Erick and Celica!

Post below should be dated May 21st! Their birthday is the 21st but the blog got posted on the 20th because it is 1am Eastern time zone :) Just don't want my husband and daughter to think that I can't remember the correct date of their birthdays!! Hugs and Kisses and Happy Birthday! Mommy

Fifteen years ago today our little girl was born on her Daddy's 31st Birthday!

Happy Birthday Celica Marie and Erick!

Actually at this hour which is about 1 am I was still in labor and did not yet know if I would be having a boy or a girl. Erick did know however and had from the moment I told him we were going to have a baby. He told me then that it was a girl. He is usually right about these things too! Anyway, it has been fifteen years and I can hardly believe it. Celica has grown into the most beautiful young lady and we are so proud of her everyday! Erick has also grown and become the most wonderful father. I am so lucky and blessed to have them as a part of my life!

Here is a poem that I wrote many years ago for them both:

Daddy's Gift

It wasn't a motorcycle with shining chrome.

It wasn't a bottle of brand new cologne.

It wasn't a ticket to a far away land.

It wasn't a chance to meet his favorite band.

It was, however, something brand new.

It was warm and snuggly and smelled good too.

It was a baby;

A blessing from above.

Daddy had been given a little girl to love.

Into our lives this little girl came.

Nothing would ever be quite the same.

This gift he received on his thirty-first year,

It is the gift most cherished, the gift most dear!

Love, Mommy

Scrapbooking your childrens favorite things.

Recently I have decided to start doing some pages about my children and their favorite things. This page is about my daughters stuffed animal Nala. I did not have the forsight to take pictures of Nala years ago when Celica used to drag her around everywhere (usually by the tail). Anyway, then it struck me that so what? I can still do pages about these items and these special memories anyway!! Celica still has a closet full of these treasures of hers so a couple of months ago I had her take Nala out of the closet to snap a few pictures of her. Celica is no longer 3 years old but she still loves her Nala and the pictures are precious just the same!

My Studio at The Paper Peddler

Here they are: some pics of my studio. I put 12 pictures on here. I hope you can get some creative ideas for your own spaces. As you can see, I use items that I find and make them work for me. From my Red work table which I absolutely love, to the Library Card Catalogs that my brother found for me for FREE!!! YIPEE! The red ones I found at a Peddlers Mall but the yellow ones were the free ones and they are amazing. I finally came up with a system that I love for organizing my Die Cuts. In the Library Card drawers each drawer holds 3 letters for example; A,B,C and every Die that I have that is an A, B, or C goes into that one drawer. This works splendidly for me and for anyone who likes to mix up their letters. I love vintage type metal cabinets as they are great for storing a whole multitude of items. I even painted one a funky bright green using metal paint! I also use 12x12 drawers by Sterlite (the white plastic ones) these I have found to be so perfect for organizing everything. I store items this way by themes. Each drawer is a different theme such as little girl, Christmas, etc. These drawers will hold not just my 12x12 papers but any embellishments as well. Lastly of course I have a big comfy sofa! When I am not too busy at the store sometimes I just curl up on my comfy sofa with a great idea book full of inspiration!! I hope this has inspired you too!! -Liz
